Who We Are
WHO WE ARE
ABOUT THE PTO
The Emerson-Williams PTO is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established to serve the families of Emerson-Williams and to help support the students, staff, and curriculum. The PTO takes a very active role in the enrichment activities of the school, while encouraging a feeling of community spirit among students, staff, and parents. EWPTO organizes and mobilizes the many parents that, through their volunteerism, make an active contribution to the school community. Funds to support all PTO-sponsored programs and purchases are generated through voluntary membership dues and through parent-coordinated fundraisers.
EWPTO is a great way for parents to become involved with their children’s elementary school experience. We urge all parents to join EWPTO and to participate to the greatest extent possible in PTO activities. Parental involvement is one of the most important factors in a school’s success.
Generally, meetings are held monthly on the third Monday at 6:30 p.m. (unless noted otherwise based on the district calendar) at Emerson-Williams Elementary School. Notices of the meetings appear in our school newsletter, EWPTO calendar, and are listed below.

HOW CAN I HELP?
There are many ways to get involved and volunteer your time with EWPTO. You can serve on the Board, sign up as a Committee Chairperson, help as a Committee member, or attend an occasional meeting. A great variety of volunteer opportunities are available with a wide range of positions available to fit your schedule and areas of expertise. We have everything from leadership roles to set up/clean up at events. Many events require volunteers at tables, baking, making photo copies, or making calls. Volunteer as many or as few hours as you would like. Our major fundraisers and socials such as the Scholastic Book Fair, Strawberry Festival, Someone Special Dance, and others include participation of many from our school community. The more volunteers, the easier the task!
EWPTO offers opportunities to meet other parents and get acquainted with Emerson-Williams. Volunteering is a great way to meet people and to become involved in your child’s school. Grab a friend or get to know someone new by co-chairing or joining a committee. The PTO cannot function without volunteers!
The foundation of parent involvement in the school is the Emerson-Williams Parent Teacher Organization (EWPTO). Numerous hours are devoted to school-wide projects that benefit our students and community at large. The PTO’s financial support enriches the curriculum with educational and cultural programs and provides funding for student field trips. Become a member by filling out our online membership form.
EWPTO is a parent organization; we need YOUR participation, ideas, and support. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about EWPTO, please feel free to contact the EWPTO Board directly, or submit questions and comments in writing via the PTO mailbox in the school office or use the Contact Us page of our website.
